INDIA. Gold Railways Token, ND. EXTREMELY FINE.
7.03 grams, 22.5mm. VERY RARE, holed (as always seen). State Railways, gold "Pass First Class", reverse numbered "18" within eight pointed star, CONTROLLER OF TRAFFIC around. An interesting piece, likely awarded to an employee for long-time service within India's extensive rail system. Only the second example we've recorded, with the other piece, less used, appearing in the 2016 auction of Dr. Lawrence Adam's collection where it brought a hammer of $2,750.
