ITALY. Order of the Roman Eagle, Military Division, Knight's Grand Cross set in Silver, ca. 1942-43. EXTREMELY FINE.
Barac-831 & 833; Werlich 742 & 743. The 51.7 mm Badge with near complete enamels - the blue enamel on the reverse displays a few cracks and is missing a tiny surface flake. The Star measures 84.4 mm and also is problem-free except for the blue enamel which is lightly cracked and missing a few flakes which expose the metal beneath. The eight point faceted plaque of the star presents impressively, and the tunic pin on the reverse functions perfectly. A makers plaque on the reverse is inscribed :"E. GARDINO SUCC. CRAVONZOLA / ROMA." The 104 X approximately 1500 mm violet and gold sash is fine and complete, including both the bow and the badge clasp.

From the Collection of Dr. James Eustace Bizzell, II.

Estimate: $1500.00- $2500.00
