PERU. 8 Escudos, 1712-LM. Lima Mint. Philip V (1700-46). NGC AU Details--Removed from Jewelry.
Fr-7; KM-38.2; Cal-Type 5#23. 26.95 grams. Nearly fully round with a clear central "712" date (with slight doubling of the "2"), a clear mintmark and a weak but visible "M" assayer. Despite once being set in jewelry, the surface quality is rather nice as well, with the primary artifacts of its previous usage being limited to small clasp marks in several locations near the peripheries. Overall a perfectly sound and presentable example of a popular and desirable doubloon from the 1715 Plate Fleet.

Ex: 1715 Plate Fleet.

Estimate: $7000.00- $10000.00
