3.78 gms. Fr-1. 3.78 grams. Obverse: Stylized figure of king charging on warhorse; Reverse: Qinas Cross of pointed shields with 7-pointed stars in the angles. Fully round with a well centered strike and charming rich orange patina that is nestled into the recesses on both sides. Continued inspection confirms this piece as choice, as the designs are nicely formed and no noteworthy marks or signs of handling are seen. As the first gold coin of Portugal, rather historic, and thus an issue that constantly finds itself at the top of gold type collectors want lists.
