Dia-1528.2. Issued to commemorate the opening of the Alexander III Monument in Moscow. Bust of Alexander III to left, name, title and vital dates around; Reverse: View of monument to Alexander III, with tribute message by Emperor Nicholas II and completion date around. A VERY RARE Ruble-sized medal, which seldom appears in any metal, but when it does, is almost always in bronze. This silver striking, the first we have offered, displays lightly handled surfaces with design details that remain sharp. Moderate olive hued tone at the edges aids the overall appearance.
