RUSSIA. Order of Saint George the Martyr. Fourth Class, ND (Established 1769). EXTREMELY FINE.
Werlich-1095; Vernon-26. The cross is 38.7 mm and of gold rimmed white enamel. The circular medallion at the center bears a multicolored enamel representation of St. George slaying the dragon. The reverse of the medallion has the cyrillic cypher of St. George in black on a white background. It is suspended from a pentagonal breast ribbon with glue residue and red fabric remnants on the reverse. Minor surface contact marks. The tip of one arm of the cross is missing a minuscule chip of white enamel.
