RUSSIA. Order of St. Vladimir, Third Class Neck Badge, ND (Established 1782). EXTREMELY FINE.
Wer-1097; Vernon-49. Gold rimmed red enamel cross with black enamel border. Central medallion in black and multicolored enamel depicts the crowned imperial mantle with the Saint's cypher; Reverse: Black central medallion with the date of the inception of the order. The loop is hallmarked with the "56" gold standard mark as well as the crossed implements indicating manufacture in St. Petersburg. Under the red enamel of the reverse of the lower arm of the cross are the initials "AK" (Antip Kuzmichev). A 180 mm length of the original ribbon remains. Some of the black enamel around the date on the reverse has chipped away, in one spot showing the metal beneath.
