SWITZERLAND. Schwyz. Scudo d'Oro (Goldkronen), ND (1510-20). Bellinzona Mint. PCGS AU-58 Gold Shield.
Fr-376 (plate coin); HMZ-2-778 (plate coin). 3.42 grams. Obverse: Small imperial eagle poised over a completely blank, archaic shield of Schwyz, legends read: "MONETA :*: NO :*: SVITENSIS :★:"; Reverse: Cross fleury in circles, legend: "SALVE. CRVX. SANCTA. ET. bENEDICT", "Hail and Bless Thee, O Holy Cross". Exceptional quality for this early Swiss type, showcasing a strike that is bold and well centered on the flan and surfaces that are nicely preserved with sparkling luster and vibrant orange gold color. EXTREMELY RARE and the only example we've seen offered. An undeniable landmark opportunity for the Swiss specialist.
