Canadian Currency
PC-2a $1 1866 PMG Very Fine 20 Net. The 1866 issue marked the first currency issued by the newly established Dominion of Canada, which came into existence in 1867. The government opted to continue the 1866 issue until the first formal issue of Dominion currency was printed in 1870. All Province of Canada issues are scarce, with the higher denominations generally unobtainable. This piece, payable at Montreal, is a moderately circulated example with some well done restorations. Graced by an attractive serial number 116666. From the Yuri Solovey Collection of Canada HID08701242017
