DC-14a $2 1897 PMG Very Fine 20 Net. Edward, the Prince of Wales who would later reign as King Edward VII, is depicted at left. Scarce in all grades, only the first 700,000 notes were printed with a red-brown back before the color scheme was changed. Despite some repairs, this is the finest graded example to ever appear in one of our auctions. Much nicer than a PMG Fine 15 that topped $7000 in an auction last year.
