BC-17P $500 1935 Face and Back Proofs PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ; Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. A gorgeous set of $500 denominated uniface proofs from the early 1935 issue. The scarcity of the regular issued notes places pressure on proofs and specimens as the limiting means for acquiring an example of this large denomination. With a printing on 20,900 English text notes, only 9 are registered in private collections. The printing of the French text was even lower with a quantity of 5,000, with none known in private collections. This exceptional pair carries the English text of the "Bank of Canada" and "Five Hundred Dollars." Both are well centered on bright cardstock and have a matching "0797" control number written in pencil on their backs. From the Yuri Solovey Collection of Canada HID08701242017
