Bank of Canada $1-$1000 1937 Issue PMG Graded Specimen Set of All Eight Denominations. This set comprises the eight notes: $1 BC-21S-ii About Uncirculated 55; $2 BC-22S Choice Uncirculated 64(Previously Mounted); $5 BC-23S Choice Uncirculated 64; $10 BC-24S Choice Uncirculated 64 (Previously Mounted); $20 BC-25S Choice Uncirculated 64; $50 BC-26S Choice About Uncirculated 58; $100 BC-27S Choice Uncirculated 64; and $1000 BC-28S Choice Uncirculated 63. The lower six denominations, $1-$50 share a common facing portrait of King George VI on the face and various allegorical figures on the back. Each denomination has a distinctively different color. The $100 has a portrait of Sir John McDonald on the face and an allegorical scene representing Commerce and Industry on the back, while the $1000 has a portrait of Sir Wilfrid Laurier on the face and an allegorical representation of Protection on the back. All of the notes have solid zero serial numbers, POCs in the signature spaces, and are stamped SPECIMEN either two or four times on the face. These are not part of the 1999 Bank of Canada sale as they do not have the hallmark three diagonal roulette SPECIMEN cancels. This is an unusual opportunity to obtain the entire 1937 Series Specimen Set complete. From the Yuri Solovey Collection of Canada HID08701242017

Estimate: 18000-22000 USD
