World Currency
Lebanon Banque de Syrie et du Liban 5 Livres (Pounds) 1939 Pick 16 PCGS Fine 15. A scarce and desirable note regardless of its technical grade. This series of notes was interesting in that the Lebanese bank intended to peg its currency to the British pound, which occurred only after the fall of France in World War II. Beautifully printed in the traditional French manner, this series had weak paper and quickly degraded. Despite the mentioned splits, tears, minor damage and repairs, the overall appearance of this note is better than its technical score. HID08701242017
