New Caledonia Banque de la Nouvelle-Caledonie Etablissement de Noumea 100 Francs 25.1.1875 Pick 8 PCGS Gold Shield Grading Very Fine 20 Details, pinholes, tears, stains. The first date of issue is seen on this large denomination of the Banque de la Nouvelle-Caledonie, issuing for the Establishment of Noumea. Notes of this series were quickly outmoded by notes of the Banque de l'Indo-Chine, which started issuing notes during the same year. The bold blue colors are excellent on this uniface note, which allowed the bleeding as a security feature. From our previous offerings, we know some notes were cancelled, most likely after the bank was de-established and replaced by the Banque de l'Indo-Chine. No stamps of this sort are seen on this attractive example with the manuscript signatures still excellent. HID08701242017
