Clodius Albinus. As Caesar, AD 193-195. Æ Sestertius (29mm, 22.46 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck AD 194-195. Bare head right / Minerva standing left, holding olive branch and shield set on ground, spear leaning against left arm. RIC IV 54a var. (reverse legend); Banti 18 var. (same). Fine, dark brown surfaces with traces of red, smoothed and tooled. As the reverse legend has been tooled, it is most likely that this coin is just the typical MINER PACIF COS II reverse legend, and the letters VA were added later.
