(x) Mercia, Coenwulf (796-821), Penny, 1.31g, 12h, large portrait type, c.800-821, East Anglian mint (Ipswich?), Wighere, + coenvvlf rex m, diademed and draped bust right, breaking solid inner circle, rev. + vvgherm, pellets (usually three) between each letter, around plain inner circle containing cross moline with pellets in angles (cf. Naismith E11 - this coin not listed, only one example listed, SCBI 2 (Glasgow) 348, from different dies; N.-; S.920), tiny chip on edge between 4 and 5 o'clock, very fine, extremely rare.
