(x) Mercia, Ceolwulf I (821-823), Penny, 1.13g, 9h, portrait type, c.810-821, East Anglian mint (Ipswich?), Hereberht, + ceolvvlf - rex m, diademed and draped bust right, the bust represented by four straight lines breaking the solid inner circle, rev. her / ebe +/ rht, in three lines, divided by lines with crook at each end, the letters her inverted (Naismith E17i this coin; N.392; S.927), edge chipped between 3 and 6 o'clock, fine, the portrait very clear, very rare.
