Augustus Æ Sestertius of Thaena, Africa(?). Circa AD 3. Bare head (of Augustus?) right; lituus before / Bare head (of Passienus Rufus?) right. Cf. RPC I 808. 35.46g, 39mm, 2h.
Fine. Possibly belonging to an extremely rare issue.
While other issues of this size and weight from the region share the characteristics of two right facing portraits with a lituus on one side (see RPC I 802 and 809), this coin appears to be most stylistically similar to be RPC I 808.
