Anthony Thompson (BNJ MCMXLVIII p. 183ff) discusses the influence of the rose noble introduced during the reign of Edward IV on the variety of continental issues utilizing the Edwardian design and issued for the expansion of trade in this era. A single number in the Spink Standard Catalog (S. 1952) covers an extensive variety of issues, some with Edward's name and many without. Most of these copies are of work inferior to that of the English issues.
