Crowned shield; thistle on each side; MARIA & HENRIC DEI GRA R & R SCOTORV / A tortoise climbing a palm tree with a banner reading DAT GLORIA VIRES; EXVRGAT DEVS & DISSIPENTR INIMICI EI. S. 5426. Cf SCBI 58: 1202 (similar if not the same die). Near Extremely Fine; beautiful old toning with iridescence. An exceptional example because of its full even flan and the sharpness of so much of the detail (note the palm tree and the tortoise).
