Choice, as made, a few faint hairlines in obverse field.

"No taxation without representation," the American colonist complaint about the Stamp Act of 1765 led to the repeal of the tax, a response that was helped by the strong support of William Pitt. (Note lot 213, a satirical token with Pitt's name expressed as a rebus.)
