Musante cites Woodward's cataloging of this piece in the 1864 sale of the John McCoy collection; "In the McCoy sale, under lot 2396, Woodward wrote that this medal was 'of the highest possible rarity.'" I was unable to find any price records for this piece, though in looking for approximate comparables an AU example of Baker 70-C was sold in 2017 by Stephen Album for $3250 plus commissions. (AD)
