ROMAN REPUBLICAN. Q. Cassius Longinus. 55 B.C. AR denarius. 4.14 gm. 19 mm. Rome mint. Head of Libertas right; Q. CASSIVS [LIBERT] around / Curule chair within the temple of Vesta; urn to left, tabella (voting tablet) inscribed AC (Absolvo Condemno) to right. Crawford 428/2. Sydenham 918. RSC Cassia 8. Near Extremely Fine; beautiful old tone with hints of blue iridescence; short hairline scratch at 2' and small area reflecting a flan flaw at chin on obverse. Lovely refined style.
