His diademed bust left; +EADGAR REX ANGLOR around / +ÆDELSIGE MTO LVN around small cross pattée (unrecorded moneyer for this type/mint). S. 1141. N. 752. EMC 2012.0246 (this coin). Very Fine; clear portrait; flan slightly bent; ragged edge from 7 to 9; slight bend and surface disturbance past inner circle at 2.

Eadgar was crowned in 973 at a church in Bath still standing today. He reformed the coinage the same year, making the obverse portrait and reverse mint name and moneyer a standard.
