Herne Bay's original 9-hole parkland/links course was reconstructed in 1902 and the President was Mr J C Lovell. The Paquebot Charles Tellier was launched in 1952 for la Cie Sud Atlantique then owned by the French government, 1962-67. Whether the golf was played on board the ship or on shore is uncertain
