NORMAN, Civil War. Local/Irregular issues. Circa 1138-1153. AR Penny (17mm, 1.14 g, 1h). Lozenge Fleurée and Annulets type (BMC iv). Lincoln mint; Godwine, moneyer. Struck circa 1143-1152. Crowned facing bust / + GODPINE [: ON : LIN...], lozenge with incurved sides; star at center, trefoil at each end, and annulet in each quarter. Mossop –; Mack 73; EMC 1200.0185 (same dies); North 897; SCBC 1301. Near VF, toned, minor roughness, areas of weak strike, scattered marks. Very rare.
