LOCAL ISSUES, Silk Road Region. 5th-8th centuries AD. AV Bracteate (20mm, 0.49 g, 12h). Copying an AV Balkh mint dinar of the Kushano-Sasanian Ohrmazd (Hormizd) I. Ohrmazd standing left on ground line, wearing lion-head crown with ribbons and surmounted by artichoke, flames at shoulders, sacrificing at altar and holding trident; to left, trident standard above altar, [middle prong surmounted by crescent]; pellet to right of altar; between legs, pellet above retrograde swastika; triple pellets below left arm; to right, τ above tamgha and βοχλο (mint signature) in Bactrian / Incuse of obverse. Cf. MK 745 (for prototype). VF, toned, some cracking and folding, edge damage. Very rare.
