Ptolemaic Kingdom. Ptolemy II Philadelphos. 285-246 B.C. AR tetradrachm (26.5 mm, 13.48 g, 1 h). Alexandria mint. Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, behind, Δ to right, two c/m's / ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ, eagle standing left on thunderbolt, wings closed; in left field, EY / KΛE monograms, no control between legs; two deep test punches/banker stamps - ivy leaf and X - on eagle. Svoronos 358. VF, on reverse, first part of legend somewhat muddled by obverse c/m's, eagle neither destroyed nor improved by c/m test punches.
