Vintage Photographs; Portrait photograph of Queen Victoria (1819–1901) - Gelatin silver photographic print - seated portrait photograph of Queen Victoria holding a fan in her hands. This same portrait was to later be used on the Dominion of Canada 1901 $5000 Proof & Specimen Banknote. This lot includes the photograph as well as the actual Die Proof Vignette on cardstock along with a partial note seemingly from the American Bank Note Company dating Dec. 13. 1900 confirming a Face Plate issue for both the $1000 & $5000. Similar type vignettes have sold in the past for well above $1500. Research shows no previous documentation of transaction for this particular vignette, so we believe this may be a new and rather unique find.
