Kings of Thrace, Lysimachos AR Tetradrachm. Chalkedon, circa 240-220 BC. Head of the deified Alexander 'the Great' right, wearing diadem and horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros enthroned left, shield resting against base of throne, spear resting behind; ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ to right, ΛΥΣΙΜΑXΟΥ to left, monograms in inner left field, outer right field, and in exergue. Unpublished in the standard reference, but will appear in the forthcoming publication on the series by C. Marinescu. 16.60g, 29mm, 12h.
Good Very Fine, slightly weak strike and minor corrosion spot on rev., lustrous and lightly toned metal. Unpublished, and possibly unique.
