Kings of Elymais, Kamnaskires IV AR Tetradrachm. Seleukeia on the Hedyphon, dated SE 249 = 64/3 BC. Diademed, beardless bust left; [anchor to right]; c/m: Nike standing left, holding wreath and palm frond; all within rectangular incuse / PACIΛEΛI above, [KAΠ]NAIKIPO[Y] to right, TOY EΓ IAIIΛΛEΛI to left, KAΠNAIKIP below, Zeus-Belos enthroned left, holding Nike, standing right and holding palm fronds, in outstretched right hand and sceptre in left; monogram to inner left; ΘΠΣ (date) in exergue. Van't Haaff Type 7.1-1Ba var. (example with c/m, but date not visible in exergue); Alram –; Triton XXI, lot 564 (same obv. die). 15.22g, 27mm, 11h.
Good Very Fine, with original 'find' patina. Apparently an unrecorded date before the Triton XXI example, making this perhaps the second known example of the earliest issue of this ruler.
