ATTICA, Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. AR Tetradrachm (35mm, 16.69 g, 12h). New Style coinage. Diopha– and Diodo–, magistrates. Struck 144/3 BC. Helmeted head of Athena Parthenos right / Owl standing right, head facing, on amphora; magistrates' names across field; to left, Apollo standing left, holding bow; [monogram] on amphora, E below; all within wreath. Thompson 184a-c (same obv. die); HGC 4, 1635. VF, lightly toned, struck from worn obverse die, minor double strike and flan flaw on reverse. Rare.
