JUDAEA, Ascalon. Æ (23mm, 13.72 g, 1h). Countermark applied mid 1st century AD. Male head right within rectangular countermark on a bronze of Claudius from Ascalon, dated CY 146 (AD 42/3). Howgego 143. Host VF, c/m VF, brown patina. Rare and unusually large countermark.
