Ostrogoths. Pseudo-Imperial coinage copying Leo I. A.D. 457-474. AE nummus (9.7 mm, .57 g, 7 h). Contemporary copy. unofficial mint, probably in Gaul, Struck A.D. 472-474. no legible legend, diademed head of Leo I right, hair in "Celtic spikes" (a la Vercingetorix) / Monogram of Leo within wreath; mint mark, if any, off-flan. VF for type, exceptionally attractive for an imitative Gothic issue.
