Gordian III, 238-244. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 29 mm, 18.94 g, 12 h), Rome, 238-239. IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III to right, seen from behind. Rev. PROVIDENTIA AVG / S - C Providentia standing front, head to left, holding globe in her right hand and scepter in her left. Cohen 304. RIC 257a. A lovely example with a splendid green patina. Very minor edge crack, otherwise, very fine.
