Gordian III, 238-244. As (Copper, 24 mm, 11.32 g, 6 h), Rome, 243-244. [IMP GO]RDIANVS PIVS FELIX AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III to right, seen from behind. Rev. MARS PROPVGNAT / S - C Mars advancing right, holding spear with his right hand and shield with his left. Cohen 158 var. (not draped and not cuirassed). RIC 332b. Struck on a slightly short flan and with a minor flan crack. About very fine.
