Aurelian, with Vabalathus, 270-275. Antoninianus (Silvered bronze, 21 mm, 3.53 g, 5 h), Antiochia, November 270-March 272. IMP C AVRELIANVS AVG (sic!) Draped and cuirassed bust of Vabalathus, diademed and laureate, to right, seen from behind. Rev. IMP C AVRELIANVS AVG / Γ Radiate and cuirassed bust of Aurelian to right. Cf. Cohen 1, RIC 381 and RIC V online 3105 (all naming Vabalathus on the obverse). A curious and very interesting mint error. Minor areas of weakness on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
This is a curious coin, as the obverse combines the diademed and laureate portrait of Vabalathus with the name of Aurelian in error!
