Justinian I, 527-565. Follis (Bronze, 22 mm, 3.14 g, 11 h), a contemporary imitation of a half-follis of Justinian I, circa 6th century. Imperial bust facing, crowned and draped, holding globus cruciger in his right hand and decorated shield with his left; around, blundered legend. Rev. Large K in center; behind, A/N/(circle)/N/O; in fields, X / DII / TO. Cf. SB 229ff. (for prototype). Attractive earthen highlights on a dark patina. Edge split, otherwise, very fine.
