UNCERTAIN TRIBES. Uniface Plaquette (Bronze, 44 mm, 5.89 g), circa 4th-7th century (?). H / ΦX-M (?) Facing half-length male figure, holding both hands in front of torso. Rev. Incuse of obverse. Attractive earthen highlights. Minor abrasions on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
The date we have assigned to this plaquette is uncertain, as is its origin, but the crude style makes us believe it is early medieval (perhaps Germanic?) rather than late Byzantine.
