CARIA. Knidos. Circa 500-490 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 6.10 g, 12 h). Forepart of a roaring lion to right. Rev. Head of Aphrodite to right, wearing taenia; all within incuse square. Cahn 49 (V27/R38). SNG Copenhagen 215 (same dies). A lovely piece of beautiful late Archaic style. The obverse struck from the usual worn die and with two scrapes on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
