LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 330-290 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 7.84 g, 2 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of grain ears. Rev. META Barley ear with leaf to left; above leaf, pitchfork; below leaf, ΔA. HN Italy 1582. Johnston Class C, 5.2. A sharp and attractive piece of lovely style. Slightly rough, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
