SYRIA, Seleukis and Pieria. Laodicea ad Mare. 78/7-17/6 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 14.89 g, 1 h), CY 24 = 58/7 BC. Turreted, veiled and draped bust of the city-goddess to right. Rev. ΛAOΔIKEΩN / THΣ IEΡAΣ KAIΣ - AΥTONOMOΥ Zeus seated left, holding Nike in his right hand and long scepter in his left; in field to left, ΔK; below throne, monogram of KA; in exergue, ΞΩ. HGC 9, 1398. Mørkholm, Autonomous, -, cf. 13c and 14 (monogram below throne facing right and with differing controls). Bright and clear. Somewhat harshly cleaned. Nearly extremely fine.
