ARABIA, Southern. Saba'. 3rd-2nd centuries BC. Unit (Silver, 17 mm, 5.21 g, 6 h), imitating Athens. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette; on cheek, 𐩬 ('n' in South Arabian). Rev. AΘE Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig and crescent; to right, monogram; all within incuse square. Huth 213. Munro-Hay 1.4i6. A beautifully toned example without the ususal porosity. Struck on a slightly short flan, otherwise, good very fine.
