ΑΥΤΟΚΡ ΚΑΙСΑΡ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟС ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟС Laureate head of Hadrian to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. ΤΡΙΠΟΛЄΙΤΩΝ / HKY Nike, holding wreath and palm frond, advancing left on galley left. Rouvier 1697. RPC II 3830. Some deposits, otherwise, about very fine.


This coin was struck right after Hadrian's accession to power, when he was still in the East organizing the Roman retreat from Mesopotamia.
