ITALY. Papal States. Liberation of Vienna Bronze Medal, 1683. Innocent XI. NGC MS-62 BN.
Miselli p. 137, 137; Ampach-6016; Lincoln-1452. Dies by Johan Hamerani. Obverse: bust right, engraver's name below; Reverse: DEXTERA TVA DOMINE PERCUSSIT INIMICVM ("Thy right hand, O Lord, hath struck the enemy", Exodus 15:6) in a wreath, date below. Issued on the liberation of Vienna from the Turkish siege. This is the first offering of this medal we can find in our archives, though a silver version appeared in an A. Tkalec sale in 2008. This example is deeply toned with no signs of abuse.

Estimate: $150.00- $250.00
