6.65 gms. Cal-Type 359 #554; Cayon-4568. Solid border on obverse and reverse. Virtually complete shield with clear mintmark and assayer's letter, partial legend. Full cross with clearly defined lions and castles. The presence of the arms of Portugal and assayer's letter/mint mark combination dates this example to between 1595-98. Slight surface porosity from saltwater immersion as noted on the NGC insert. Despite its short comings a presentable example with much character displaying light attractive tone.
