SPAIN. 2 Reales, ND (ca. 1603-04). Granada Mint, Assayer M (= - GM), Francisco Minguez (1597-1621). Philip III (1598-1621). NGC VF Details--Cleaned.
6.80 gms. Cal-Type 1046; KM-17.3; cf.Cayon-4593. No beaded border. Displaying a partial shield and base of crown with a bold cross and castles and lions. Based on stylistic comparison with remnants of "M" near lower right quadrant of shield, the presence of the arms of Portugal and triple boarder octolobe on the reverse positively identifies this example to the ascribed date range and assayers/mint/denomination combination. Lightly cleaned now with light attractive golden tone.
