SPAIN. 4 Reales, ND (ca. 1611-15). Seville Mint, Assayer B (S B - IIII Vertically), Juan Vicente Bravo (1592-1612). Philip III. NGC EF Details--Cleaned.
13.77 gms. Cal-Type 90; KM-36.2; cf.Cayon-4763. Nearly complete shield, clear Assayer's letter, denomination and mintmark, partial ordinal at 8 o'clock. Triple struck cross muddling most of the design, one clear lion. The omission of "OMNIVM" in favor of the full spelling of the king's name inclusive of ordinal "III" would suggest a circa date of 1611-15 which corresponds with the 8 Reales. Lightly cleaned with somewhat of a flat strike possibly from being struck multiple times. Despite the noted defects an interesting example with light champagne tone.
Estimate: $100.00- $150.00
