MEXICO. Silver Peso Pattern, 1950-Mo. Mexico City Mint. PCGS SP-64 Gold Shield.
KM-Pn197. The reverse die of this pattern was used on the 5 Peso of 1950 (KM-466). A boldly struck example with sparkling luster in the fields and moderate gray to almond toning on both sides. VERY RARE as an issue with the only other recorded sale in recent times being the Pablo Gerber specimen (also graded SP-64 by PCGS) which brought $6,000 hammer at auction in 2004. As such, an important opportunity for the collector focusing on 20th century Mexican rarities.
