Vespasian Æ Sestertius. Rome, AD 71. IMP CAES V4ESPASIAN AVG P M TR P P P COS III, laureate head right / Front view of the Temple of Isis, showing four columns on a podium of five steps; between the columns at entrance to an inner shrine is a statue of Isis, standing facing holding patera; to the right and left of the steps are statues standing on low bases; above, within a semicircular pediment with elaborate ornamentation above, can be seen Isis riding a dog running right. Part of Vespasian's first sestertius issue of AD 71, this reverse type marks the first time in Roman Imperial coinage where an Egyptian deity is commemorated.
